Tak'Unguzch The Devouring One

Tak'Unguzch The Devouring One BTNZergling

Description

Available Model From Warcraft III
Tak'Unguzch The Devouring One Zergling

The Devouring One takes form with purpose. It uses tough chitinous carapace and powerful legs to speed through its enemies. It even thrusts with its arms while moving when it desires rapidity in killing. Not only is the act of killing important to its ravenous form, but also the speed at which it can move on. For this it possesses its ravenous maw capable of grasping and consuming without stopping.

Lore

Excerpt from the Black Grimoire of Demnok Lannik the Warlock

The realm where the Mad Moon fell and created a battlefield between the ancient powers of many dimensions is not as helpless as it seems. All quarreling and time wasted in disputes will be punished. It is through the Devouring One that the world will face its retribution. Wrought out of the hunger for conflict itself, the Devouring One will not stop until it has consumed all that is chaos and destruction. Those that it finds along its path will not be spared for they contain the life essence inside of them that conflict, chaos, and destruction waste. This great taste of essence will keep the Devouring One consuming all it finds. The Devouring One is a World Eater, and it shall not stop until this world and its entire plane of existence lies barren. The only hope that exists in the face of a World Eater is the starvation that follows once it is left with nothingness.

1. A steroid, escape ability, and chase ability all mixed in one. It is essentially a duration fury swipes that gives movement speed instead of damage, which would give him the opposite needs of Ursa actually.
2. This is interesting in the way the mechanics work, although powerful it can be overcome by stun stacking, especially with a weaker stun first. This is counter intuitive to standard stun planning and additionally it works differently than other heroes who can avoid stuns through mobility or pure magic immunity. It is extra effective against bashing heroes but weaker to slows. Thankfully his first skill can help mitigate slows. Depending on the build, building survivability rather than magic immunity could be best as the overall time lost from stuns is short and his Chase of Death can continue to give him mobility.
3. Potentially the most unique skill, chase of death is a hybrid between Weaver's Geminate attack with some of the properties of random aoe attacks such as Leshrac's Diabolic Edict. It retains the hybridization of the double auto attack from Weaver, but it applies this randomly to nearby enemies similar to Diabolic Edict, favoring positioning over auto attacks. One unique mechanic is the ability to force the skill to re-target through auto attacking the unit being focused due to the fact that it cannot stack with auto attacks.
4. This skill turns him into a massive chasing machine, running from hero to hero while creating tough choices for the enemy team. If he is not killed he stands to gain massive attack speed and ignore high amounts of stuns applied on him. Overall this emphasizes his already impressive ability to chase and succeed in long drawn out fights. Additionally the devouring one would gain wings, at first shriveled and then more and more fleshed out as his stacks increase.

I love the amount of work you put into this!
The ultimate sounds so imba!!!

But it does sound a bit like a hero in League of Legends. He would eat certain things and the more he ate the bigger he got, but this ultimate is different.

I've only ever tried hon and smite for a bit so thanks for the heads up. The whole getting bigger cause of X isn't that original. In fact Dirge already does it with decay, but I couldn't think of another cool effect for when he gains his stacks. PA already has a transparency effect when she levels blur. Let me know if there is something better.

The ult is supposed to be a big steroid to make his chasing ridiculous ala Lycan. Obviously the difference is that Lycan boasts more pushing instead of a chasing subset. It should make for a unique play style where your raw positioning matters most, someone who is a master of blocking and backswing canceling would be terrifying with this hero.

I really do like it though! Maybe he can get additional claws or something o.O
Which would probably be EXTREMELY hard to program, well, I would think so xDD

It would probably be hard to program for WC3 as it would require custom models, but in DOTA 2 it seems possible.

The model is the zergling model, a Warcraft III easter egg about Starcraft. In Starcraft 2, Zerglings gain wings when you research their speed upgrade. So as a visual he could gain slowly expanding yet still visually anemic wings.

Spoiler:

Also some trivia, the devouring one was the name of the zergling hero unit from Starcraft and Starcraft Broodwar.

Some Changes: Added unused icons from Warcraft III and fixed ability border to correctly identify Unstoppable as a passive ability.

Swapped Adrenal Glands and Chase of Death on the ability score card. This is for icon color consistency and so the user can naturally understand how Adrenal Glands works with Chase of Death just from reading order.
